Rally Jamaica 2015 – draws closer
It is said that “third times the charm” we certainly hope this holds true as for the 3rd time around Rally Jamaica is again on the world stage as the final leg of the FIA NACAM Regional Rally Championship (NRC). The event has been registered on the FIA International Motorsports events calendar. In 2014 the NRC had a unfortunate end in Columbia which saw none of the cars being able to arrive in Kingston for Rally Jamaica as they were detained by customs in Columbia.
But it is a new year and the NRC has seen the infusion of the NACAM (DMACK) R2 Cup as part of the series. This saw the inclusion of 5 factory prepared Ford Fiesta R2 cars in the series. For the year 2015, the NACAM R2 cup is being run as part of the FIA NACAM Rally Championship. Competitors get to drive homologated versions of the Ford Fiesta R2 rally car with a unique opportunity to boost their rallying career as the prize.
Three (3) of the Ford Fiestas cars will be participating in the final leg. These will be piloted by Andres Molina from Costa Rica in Car #250, Miguel Medina Car #210 and Dillon Van Way of the USA in Car#600. They will be joined by reigning Mexican Rally Champion Francisco Name Car#233 and defending NRC Champion Ricardo Triviño Car#201, will both be piloting their Mitsubishi Evolution 10.
The NACAM Regional Rally Championship consists of 6 rallies across North and Central America with legs being held in Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica and Panama for 2015. The 2015 NACAM Rally Championship is the eighth season of the NACAM Rally Championship. This Championship is the FIA regional rally championship for the North America and Central America (NACAM) region. The season began in Oaxaca, Mexico in April, and is scheduled to end in Jamaica.
